SASI Accommodation Services

Statewide Autistic Services Inc manage 7 Shared Supported Accommodation facilities, and 1 individual accommodation service within the Southern Metropolitan Region. These facilities are for adults with disabilities who require long term accommodation support.

Disability support staff provide care and assistance to the residents 24 hours per day, sleepover staffing is also provided. Staff use the Active Participation approach to ensure individuals are provided with the greatest opportunity to participate to the best of their ability in all aspects of their lives. Each resident has a Person Centred Plan which is reviewed regularly (not less than every 3 years) to ensure the individual’s goals, aspirations and needs are being met.

Residents are also supported to access the community and maintain relationships with family and friends. Many residents regularly visit family members, attend family functions, stay overnight and go on family holidays. Each resident also participates regularly in group and individual recreation activities as well as attending adult day programs of their choice.

All vacancies within these accommodation services are managed via the Department of Human Services Vacancy Management process. Those interested in long term accommodation should contact DHS Intake & Response on 1300 131 079 and request to be registered on the Disability Service Register (DSR).
