Our Board

SASI is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation governed by a board of eight community members. Our board is made up of parents, as well as public and private sector advocates. SASI’s Board meets each month and is committed to SASI’s best practice methodology. Terms of governance and service provision are key considerations for the future of SASI.

Background & Experience

Rob has extensive experience in the health and human services sector at both practitioner and executive management levels. He is actively involved in policy development including peak body representation and has a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and governance particularly in the not-for-profit sector.

Rob is the current Independent Chair of Headspace Frankston and Executive Director of SEHCP Inc. He has held many Non -Executive Director roles in Health, Education and Community organisations.

Rob has demonstrated capacity in strategic business planning and direction, financial and capital management, project evaluation and oversight of human resource management.

Angelia-Dixon

Background & Experience

Angelia is a highly experienced health sector executive and joined the Board this year. Her skills include governance, risk management, strategic planning and patient safety. A Peninsula resident, Angelia is CEO of the Pancare Foundation and previously held Executive General Manager roles at Ambulance Victoria and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute. Joining SASI in 2016, Angelia has held previous Board positions with Impact and Melba Support Services.

David

David Maywald

Background & Experience

David is a professional Non-Executive Director (NED), following a career in Investment Management. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

He holds several Directorships across a spectrum of areas including children’s charities (Morialta Trust), sustainability (SolarShare Community Energy), and health (Perinatal Wellbeing Centre). David is passionate about: health, families, infrastructure and renewable energy.

Andrew Mosley

Background & Experience

Andrew has almost two decades’ experience as a Policy and Advocacy Practitioner, having worked at a range of health charities and NFPs as well as State and Federal Government agencies. He is a passionate community health advocate and is currently Head of Policy and Advocacy at a large health charity.  

He has held Directorships with Community Training Organisations and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. 

Andrew has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Public Policy and Management (Melb), and a Post Grad Diploma in Communication (RMIT). He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds a Certificate in Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia.

Catherine is a GP with over 30 years of experience in community medicine. She has been on several boards including  two Aged care facilities and Amaze. She has an adult son on the autism spectrum.

Background & Experience

Bec is an Executive with a disability organisation (St John of God Accord) with over 15 years’ experience in leading

disability services across operational, strategic and Executive roles. She has led the transition from block-funded service delivery to an

individualised funded model, resulting in a passion for delivering truly client focused supports.

She has a Masters of Health Services Management and Bachelor, Medical Science (Denmark) and is a member of ASID

Background & Experience

Tony has over 30 years’ experience in senior management roles in the healthcare sector both in Australia and the United States and is the founder and CEO of Christmas Corporate Advisory, a consulting firm advising healthcare companies on strategy.

Tony remains active in his local community and is a current volunteer with the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Victoria. Tony joined the SASI Board in 2011 and was Deputy Chair from 2014-2018

Barry

Background & Experience

Barry has a professional background in Risk Management, Governance, Strategy development, Process Improvement and Compliance. He has worked in education, health and aged care, and has qualifications in risk mgt, auditing and OHS.  Barry has held a number of Director roles in a range of NFP’s, is currently a Board member of a Disability Provider in regional Victoria  and is a Certificated member of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Carol

Background & Experience

Carol has combined a successful international academic research career in financial, social, climate change and environmental accounting, reporting and assurance with senior leadership, governance and global standard setting roles.

Carol is a Chartered Accountant, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD)and has served on a number of NFP Boards. Carol is a member of the Policy Leadership Board, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), Chair, Sustainability Panel, ICAS and Part-time Professor of  Accounting, at both Swinburne Business School, Melbourne and Durham University Business School, UK. She is autistic.

Using her skills in strategy, corporate and clinical governance, marketing and development, she has worked in the health sector for organisations such as Paraquad, Scope, Alfred Health and Red Cross. She is a Director of strategic consultancy Marketing Logic and is also on the boards of Scouts Victoria and the Victorian Opera. Vivienne joined the Board in 2015 and is a former Chair of the Frankston Arts Centre.
