Accommodation

Be more independent with our range of permanent, short term and respite accommodation.

Whether in your own home or one managed by SASI, we support you to live as independently as possible. Available for adults over 18 years of age.

SASI Accommodation

SASI provides Shared Independent Living (SIL) at a variety of accommodation types including short/medium term, permanent and respite. Some properties are owned by SASI and others are owned by Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) providers.

Support staff are on hand in each home to provide individualised support on a 24/7 basis. Staff work in line with goals identified in NDIS plans to actively encourage residents to participate in all aspects of life, to the best of their ability and every attempt is made to engage residents in daily activities. Our teams endeavour to build confidence, improve communication and enhance social skills of the people they support.

SASI’s approach is tailored to meet client needs, and every attempt is made to match potential new residents to appropriate vacancies.

We support you to:

  • Develop individual program plans that outline goals, aspirations and desires for independent living.
  • Develop and maintain friendships and community connections
  • Access social and recreational activities
  • Manage and attend appointments
  • Complete forms and other forms of communication
  • Maintain a household
  • Manage accommodation and tenancy obligations

We will also work with you to develop increased independence through skill development in areas such as:

  • Financial and money management
  • Shopping and household tasks, including cooking and domestic duties
  • Social skills
  • Using public transport

Vacancies

On offer is one vacancy in a three resident established SIL home, with supports provided by Independence Australia Group-SASI.  The house consists of a front lounge room and a large back open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. There are four bedrooms, a staff room and two shared bathrooms.  There is a generous outdoor pergola fit with café blinds and large backyard. Local shops and public transport are within easy reach of the property.

Current residents are both male aged 59 and 27.  Both residents attend a local day service and prefer a fairly quiet environment engaging in activities of their choice.  Current staffing is active support during waking hours and inactive sleepover.

Current fees are 75% of persons DSP.  Supports are claimed through person’s NDIS SIL funding
